Vieux Lyon is one of the most enjoyable areas of the city to explore on foot. With its Renaissance façades, cobbled streets and famous traboules, every walk reveals a different side of Lyon.

Start in the Saint-Jean district and visit its cathedral, then take some time to wander through the surrounding narrow streets. Some of the traboules are hidden passageways that lead from one street to another through the inner courtyards of historic buildings.

In summer, exploring the Saône offers a different perspective on Lyon. From the riverbanks, you can enjoy beautiful views of the façades of Vieux Lyon, Fourvière hill and the footbridges connecting the two sides of the river.
